-GENERAL INFOS- The apartment is located on the last floor of a former hôtel particulier, which were the luxury mansions or townhouses where local aristocracy was living a few centuries ago. It was built by Baron de Saizieu in the XVII century. It is in the heart of Aix en Provence’s historic neighborhood, Le Quartier Mazarin, where are situated most of Aix's hôtels particuliers. For 8€ per person, i will prepare breakfast with the finest ingredients bought from local producers. It will have : french pastries such as croissants, white bread (baguette), homemade fresh orange juice, a selection of best quality tea, coffee and marmelade. There is no parking in the apartment, but you can park the car in every street of the city if you take some time to find a free place, or you can go in a private car park. There are plenty of them in Aix, of which Parking Carnot and Parking Effia Gare Aix ((SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) them to see location) are the closest from the house. -ABOUT ME- Bonjour, I'm Marie Jo, your host. We rent out the master bedroom of our charming luxury apartment in the nicest neighborhood of Aix en Provence. I am a psychologist, the mother of two children, and I am passionate about my city and Provence. Having travelled in different places around the world, I know how difficult it is to know what are the best things to see or to do when you are abroad, but don’t worry; I’ll do my best to help you during your stay! -DIRECTIONS- FROM TGV STATION There are shuttle buses that leave shortly after every TGV that stops in the train station. They will take you to Aix Bus Station in 20 minutes. From there, you can walk to the apartment; it is a 10 minutes walk -NEIGHBORHOOD AND APARTMENT- The apartment is located on the last floor of a former hôtel particulier, which were the luxury mansions or townhouses where local aristocracy was living in the XVI, XVII, XVIII and XIX centuries. It is located in the heart of Aix en Provence’s historic neighborhood, Le Quartier Mazarin, where are situated most of Aix's hôtels particuliers. Although the apartment is four centuries old, it is totally restored and equipped with all what modern comfort can offer. You will be at walking distance from many sites of touristic interest, such as Museum Granet (2 minutes walking), Cours Mirabeau (30 sec)..., and from all amenities (supermarket, shopping boutiques, bus station, train station, restaurants, car parks, bars, museums, expositions...). As you can see on the map, the apartment is situated right in the center of the city :-) It is a very safe and calm neighborhood, but minutes away from bars and clubs frequented by the student crowd. The apartment is situated in the 3rd floor without elevator, which can sometimes be difficult if you have a lot of luggage. That's part of the charm of old buildings... -THE ROOM- The bedroom is 30m² with a spacious private bathroom and toilet. It is totally separated from the rest of the apartment so you will have all the intimacy you need. There are two windows (which have now double glazing) looking onto a typical street form Aix. You will see from the windows Le Cours Mirabeau on the left, the most famous avenue of the city, where passers-by like to languish on café terraces, and la Fontaine des Quatre Dauphins on the right, the most beautiful fountain of the city. The bathroom is equipped with a sink, a large bathtub and a toilet. -RATES ANS CONDITIONS- The TOTAL price per night is as listed on AirBnB. Check-in time is at 2pm but you can leave your stuff in the apartment if there still another guest in the room who has not check out yet. Please have the courtesy to let me know in advance when you plan on arriving. Check out time is at 12 o'clock. Towels and sheets are provided. Don't hesitate to ask about any other services you may need or desire during your stay (for example, taxis, food delivery, keeping your luggage for an extra day or two, etc.). I'm flexible!
